How it works
Thinking clearly together
"I really need to think that through" — easy to say, but how do you actually do it?
When you think on your own, you can get stuck: you go around in circles, convinced of one thing and then the other, and end up confused. And so you carry a problem around with you indefinitely, without ever moving a step further.
In a consultation, you bring me a question. I then set you thinking through counter-questions. Together we break through your circular thinking and examine your question in a fresh, structured way.
Do you leave the session with an answer? Maybe. But maybe you'll realise you were asking the wrong questions. Or that there wasn't even a problem to begin with. More important than any specific outcome is that your thinking gets moving again — that you can carry on, whatever that ends up looking like.
Because I'm still completing my training as a philosophical consultant, I'm currently working on a pay-what-you-want basis: we have the session, and you pay what it was worth to you.
